another monkey gone
second set done, just like the other one:

Yarn: Colinette Jitterbug (Fruit Coulis) for the foot, Rowan 4ply Soft in Wink for the toe
Pattern: Monkey from Knitty.com
See here for a full FO Report.
This is the first time I've used Jitterbug and it was nice to work with. This yarn is REALLY bright, so the Monkey pattern hardly shows up at all. I still like how it turned out, tho!

This pair went just as easily as the first- my only problem occurred when trying on finished sock #2. What originally looked like a large yarnover turned out to be two dropped stitches on the leg of the sock. Luckily I had a great 'nurse' in blogless Joyce and the stitch-picking up surgery went perfectly. After pulling the stitches up correctly, I threaded them onto a spare piece of yarn and pulled them through the wrong side so they'd stay put. Other than that little mishap, I'm quite happy with them.
In other crafty news, I've been playing with some smaller needles and string:

I'm not sure yet what these little patches will become....Little Man asked for 'white mushrooms with brown wigs'(!?) so I did my best to draw one out. Maybe that patch will end up on one of his t-shirts or shorts.
Look at you - you're on a roll!
And it's all so gorgeous...
I'm particularly charmed by LM's bewigged mushrooms!

I love your embroidery. Just adorable. And what a great idea to turn them into patches. I've been playing around with a few things in my mind, but I didn't know what to put them on (hat, bag, etc) so I've been keeping them in my head. But patches are a fantastic idea. And your monkey socks look fun!
